TURK PRYSMIAN WON THE TENDER
FOR EXTRA HIGH VOLTAGE CABLES !
Turk Prysmian Cables and Systems and Prysmian Cavi Systems Energia
Consortium, signed an agreement with TEİAŞ (Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation) about
Davutpaşa GIS – Yenibosna GIS 380kV HV Underground Cable Connection Project.
World leading company Prysmian, one of the leading companies in the Turkish cable sector for
almost half a century, won the last TEİAŞ's high voltage tender issued during last Q09 and
definitively awarded end of the year. Turk Prysmian and Prysmian Cavi Systems Energia Consortium
which had completed Turkey's first 380 kV Underground Cable Facility Project in 2007, once again
has proved its expertise in high voltage cables.
According to the agreement, Prysmian is due to provide both the cables and the installation
process. Prysmian will complete the fabrication and installation of 21km of HV cables, 24 pcs
HV joints and 6 pcs GIS termination in 17 months. The cable supply contract value will be higher
than 10.000.000 € and will be produced in one of Prysmian's high-tech facilities, France / Gron
Factory and the accessories of the cables will be manufactured in Italy / Livorno
Factory.
Following its successful high voltage projects in North East America and China, in 2009,
Prysmian is strengthening its expertise on this subject with this new agreement.
